Erin Matariki Carr - 2013 student editor of the Māori Law Review

Erin is of Ngāti Awa and Tūhoe descent.

Erin is a student at Victoria University of Wellington studying towards a Bachelor of Law with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Spanish.

She has played an active role in Ngā Rangahautira, the Māori Law Students Association at Victoria University, and is also a student volunteer at the Wellington Community Law Centre.

In 2014 Erin is in her final year at Victoria University and is interested in working in the fields of environmental law, legal issues affecting Māori, and New Zealand’s relations with Latin America. Her Honours thesis is focussed on environmental law issues, looking at the constitutions of both Ecuador and Bolivia which have recently confirmed human rights standards for "Pachamama", the indigenous Mother Earth, herself.
