 Annelise is a student of Victoria University of Wellington and is in her fifth year, studying towards a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Criminology and a minor in Māori studies. Annelise is passionate in learning more about her culture and is committed to giving back to her community. As well as study and part-time work, Annelise volunteers for the Community Law Centre and is the 2018 Māngai Tāhūhū (Faculty Representative) for Ngā Rangahautira (Victoria University’s Māori Law Students’ Society). Annelise is also a part of Ngā Kaiaronui, a sub-group of Ngā Rangahautira who are dedicated to forming and publishing educated opinions upon contemporary issues affecting Māori. In her spare time, Annelise enjoys boxing, hot yoga and spending time with friends and whānau. At the end of her study, Annelise hopes to attend a full immersion te reo Māori course and utilise her studies in a career in the Māori legal sphere.
