 Duran affiliates with Ngapuhi, and is in his fifth and final year of a Bachelor of Laws with Honours, Bachelor of Commerce conjoint degree at Victoria University of Wellington. He has participated in various constitutional conversations in Wellington. Most recently, Duran presented in the 2013 Te Papa Treaty Debates series. Duran has also been an active member of the EmpowerNZ constitutional workshop series.
